Pooch affair 2020

On Saturday 19 December 2020, Canberra dogs were on show during A Pooch Affair’s Xmas Doggie Day Out.  It was an opportunity for Canberra’s finest to dress their dogs up in their best Christmas gear.  There were dogs with little elves uniforms and lots of Christmas collars on display amongst the visiting dogs.   There was lots of competition for the best-dressed dog competition.

It is a great initiative by A Pooch Affair to run Doggie Day Out.   A Pooch Affair is a boutique indoor event for dog lovers in the Canberra region.  It unites those active in the dog community with those whose domestic animals are a part of the family.

There was plenty for dogs to get their teeth into.  There was a chance to utilise the Doggie Day spa to pamper your pooch. There was a doggie retail mall including treats, kennels, luxury beds, a pet photographer, doggie day-care options, dog trainers, dog travel, clothing, collars and leads, bandanas, personalised Christmas baubles, and giftware.  Plenty of little goodies for furparents to take home to spoil their canine companion.  There was also plenty of food available with the Doggie Diner serving canine-compatible snacks that are needed to keep your pupper pleased.  Thankfully there was also a coffee cart to keep furparents adequately refreshed.

Thankfully I had my camera with me to capture some of the beautiful pooches that were on display.

There was plenty of entertainment for the visiting crowd.  Belconnen Dog Obedience Club was well represented with disc dogs, dancing with dogs, and flyball demonstrations.  Crowds were eagerly waiting in anticipation for these demonstrations to watch the dogs perform and make a judgment call about whether their dogs would be up to this type of competition.

It was a fun time at the Xmas Doggie Day Out.  I can’t wait for the next one that will be held in 10 July 2021.  Look out for advertisements.
